“SEEK A MIRACLE ATAXIA GROUP” (INDIA) is a registered non-profit, support group. SAMAG aims to work for the cause of “Ataxia” and “Muscular Dystrophies” which are a set of rare Neuro Muscular Degenerative disorders resulting in body imbalance or gait and may lead to Heart problems which gradually worsens until the victim becomes totally incapacitated. Usually their life expectancy is very short depending upon the type/ severity of Ataxia, Muscular Dystrophies and other factors. At present there is no known cure in the world. But, due to new Medical break-throughs, Scientists and Doctors around the world are hoping for a cure for Ataxia disorders.

| How it began |
|
On the International and National front, there are many Organizations like National Ataxia Foundation (NAF), Seek a Miracle (USA) and Indian Association of Muscular Dystrophies (IAMD), etc. doing valuable work. Getting inspired from them, we have started this support group called “SEEK A MIRACLE ATAXIA GROUP” (INDIA).

India is one of the largest countries in the world with a huge population. Due to lack of awareness in the country, Ataxians and other Neuro Muscular Dystroply victims are suffering silently. “SEEK A MIRACLE ATAXIA GROUP” mainly aims at spreading awareness and extending their help to poor Ataxians and Muscular Disorders patients in India, irrespective of their race, belief or faith.

One of our primary objective is to spread awareness about Ataxia and other Neuro Muscular Disorders and to provide information and counseling in coping to live with them, in co-ordination with Medical Community and general people, by creating a Forum for Ataxians.

To organise meetings, seminars and generating knowledge base on Ataxia and Neuro Muscular Disorders and to share information about Financial, Medical, Educational grants and other benefits to which they are entitled for.

To act as advocacy and lobby group for people with MDs and Ataxians, and prepare volunteers who can contribute their time and energy for the welfare of Ataxia and MD patients. And it is our aspiration to establish a disabled friendly SAMAG Research cum Rehabilitation Centre for Ataxians and Muscular Disorder persons.

To provide the latest research information around the world. Issue news magazines, publishing journals, articles etc., highlighting their needs, interests and simple ideas for managing daily life.

Our support group works to help our members in obtaining essential commodities like Wheel Chairs, Walkers, Medicines etc, to the needy depending on our Financial Resources and gather volunteers to help our cause.

Our support group entirely depends upon donations, charity, grants and fund raising events. We need your helping hands to support our cause to spread awareness and to work for the welfare of Ataxians in the society. Even a little help can make a difference.

| BRIDGE TO HOPE: SAMAG REHABILITATION CENTER |

We at SEEK A MIRACLE ATAXIA GROUP aspire to build a disabled friendly Rehabilitation cum Research Center. Our concerted efforts are towards conducting camps for Ataxia and other MD patients and to have them spend at least a weeks time here. This will provide a perfect platform for ataxians, MD patients, their families, relatives and caregivers to share information and most importantly to make new friends. It's our belief that by direct interaction among Ataxians/MD sufferers, their family members will help reduce their worries and give them a sense THEY ARE NOT ALONE and we finally hope this will lead them to accept life in a positive way.

| We aspire to build SAMAG Rehabilitation cum Research Centre that can carry out research activities to find out a cure for Neuro Muscular diseases. We are looking forward for generous financial help to make this dream come true. The joy and hope that will touch lives of sufferers will be the true Bridge to hope.
